This week I am thrilled to have a few more ladies sign up for 1:1 reformer work. The reformer is an incredible piece of equipment which really helps you and I together to address any assymetries in your body and which will enable you to really feel and isolate that deep core in a way that you would not have imagined possible. I highly recommend to anyone attending the studio, that you would benefit from a one hour private session on a monthly basis to really raise your body awareness and check into your core.
I am also really excited to have launched my first ante-natal Holistic Core Restore® BUMP class. Exercising through your pregnancy is key to staying fit and mobile, helping to prevent some of the more common pregnancy complications, it also helps to prepare you for the delivery but I think most importantly it provides a forum to share information and ideas and bring you into your “tribe” really fostering that spirit of community and support. I have immersed myself this week in the Pregnancy and Motherhood Summit which is literally a smorgesboard of wonderful pregnancy and motherhood information – if you are thinking of becoming pregnant, already pregnant or know someone who is, this is fab info check it out
One of the speakers was a lady called Edwina Sharrock from Birth Beat in Australia, I loved her presentation. She is running on-line birth preparation classes which I know especially in Nanyuki are hard to come by, but especially for the first time mum and dad, very important.
Here is a short video all about birthing positions and postures that she has made which you may find useful.
I also watched a talk about the use of essential oils in pregnancy given by Dr. Sabrina Zielinski, and she gave lots of useful recipes for pre and post natal use of essential oils - check out her website for more info. I especially loved this recipe she called joyful - good for post-natal blues but also lovely to massage your baby with.
