Pilates Matwork classes follow the Pilates exercise principles and your own body weight to provide resistence. The beauty of Matwork classes is the freedom of being able to experience continuous fluid movement with uninterrupted flow but at your level of ability. Ali’s Pilates Mat classes are one hour long, starting with a warm-up to help you focus on the class, followed by 35 minutes of concentrated Pilates exercises which target every part of the body, finishing with a cool down and stretch/relaxation. Ali uses a variety of props - stretch bands, small balls, large balls and rings to help add variety to her classes and target particular areas of the body more strongly.
